Friday, 16th October saw the finale of Mental Health Awareness Week. As well as the "Green Day" collection in aid of the Donal Walsh Foundation (#LiveLife), there was an open-mic music session in the Coffee Dock at lunchtime. The jam session was so well received that Mr. Dessie Doherty spent Friday evening thinking about cool names for the gig, which will now be held once a month. While he eventually came up with "Cookies & Jam Session", he's still open to suggestions. However, please be advised that if Mr. Doherty doesn't like your idea, he'll tell you...Wannabe acts should contact Mr. Doherty at break-time or lunchtime to get themselves in the lineup. If the response is sufficient, the show will be on EVERY Friday.
Overall, Mental Health Awareness Week was hugely beneficial and thought-provoking and will be a strong calendar event going forward. Many thanks to everyone - pupils, parents and staff - who chipped in.
