The week of the 3rd of October is Dyslexia Awareness Week in CCS. Dyslexia affects 1 in 10 students. There are many definitions of dyslexia. A very simple one would be that dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty which makes it hard for some people to learn, read, write and/or spell correctly.
Under the umbrella of The CCS Dyslexia Initiative and to coincide with Dyslexia Awareness Week, we will be screening all CCS students in their class groups for dyslexia using computer software. The hope is to identify pupils with slight dyslexia that might have gone undiscovered. However, if you decide that you do not wish for your child to be screened, please provide notice in their School Journal.
