P1020271In August, our friends from St. Charles, Missouri arrived in Carndonagh following a tour of the country. Their week-long Inishowen stop was the finale of an adventure that took them from Dublin, through Cork and Galway, and onwards to the northwest. The aim of the visit was to solidify the connections that have already been established between St. Charles High School and Carndonagh Community School. Carla O'Dell, one of the visiting group's chief organisers, expressed great satisfaction that the links between the schools have now expanded to include the wider areas of St. Charles and Inishowen. The formalities included a welcome evening and barbecue in Carndonagh CS, several tours of the locality, and a municipal meeting of visitors, CCS staff and local political representatives. The meeting was ably chaired by Aideen Doherty. The twinning is in the early stages, but with further exchange trips already on the horizon, there's no doubt that the links and friendships that have already been made can only become stronger.
