After a tough week of Mocks most years settled back into routine with Seachtain na Gaeilge. It was a very successful week with a number of different activities taking places. We would like to give a big thank you to the P.E. Dept. who taught some of their classes through Irish, the Art Dept. who did Irish posters based on Irish Seanfhocail and the Music Dept. who learnt Ed Sheeran’s Galway Girl, through Irish. Within the Irish Dept. games, competitions and activities were held in class to promote the language in a fun way. The junior years had bingo, spelling bees, quizzes and poster competitions. And the Fifth years had their annual Tráth an gCeist on Thursday morning, which was won by, Roisin Toland, Doireann Ní Cheallaigh, Lainey Lyons and Ailbhe Mc Laughlin .There was also a crossword competition for all years with the prize of a €200 Gaeltacht voucher to Coláiste Bhríde Rann na Feirste (winner will be announced in the coming days). We finished off the week with the Céilí Glás in the Áras, where the First Years strutted their stuff. We would like to give a big thank you to Munchies, Buncrana, who provided us with sweet hampers for the First Year céilí and SuperValu who gave us some Easter eggs to give out as prizes during the week. Bhí seachtain ar dóigh ag achan duine a ghlac páirt.
