On Friday 29th April, CCS students took part in the VEX Robotics Competition held in LYIT. Nine schools from Donegal took part, with twelve teams in total as two schools had teams entered with robots sponsored by FinTech companies. There were twenty-four matches in the heat stage which CCS won! Sadly, CCS were knocked out in the semi-final by a crafty Letterkenny team who trapped the CCS robot for the majority of the match. The team worked hard building and coding the robot since December and planning their strategy. Well done to the boys for a fantastic achievement! Construction team members were: David McGonigle 5C, Dean Grant 5F, Tony Diver 5D, Ronan Kelly 5B, Conor Doherty 5C and Paul McGonigle 5E. Coding team: Dean Grant 5F and Lorcan Smith TYF. The driver on the day was David, who did brilliantly as did the entire team.
