Cross Country 2020

Diarmait Keogh and Oisin Fogarty will represent CCS at the Ulster Schools’ cross-country finals in the City of Belfast playing fields in Mallusk, Wednesday 11th February. In the qualifying Ulster District Schools’ race held in the Finn Valley Center, 31st January, Diarmait raced very strongly to finish 5th in the Under 17 boys race. The fifth-year student lead the 4.5km race for over a 1km and secured a place in the Ulster finals with a top six finish. In the same race, Oisin moved through the field in the closing stages and finished a highly creditable 12th despite being out of the sport due to injury over the last few months. On Wednesday, the target for both Diarmait & Oisin will be the All-Ireland Schools’ Cross-country Finals which take place in Santry Demense, Dublin on Saturday 7th March. We wish both athletes all the very best of Wednesday.

Athletics training continues every Thursday afternoon, 3:20pm-4:45pm. All are welcome to come along.
