Commiserations to Aoife McColgan and Niamh McDaid who represented Donegal in the Division 1 Final on Sunday, 7th May. The girls were part of a hugely valiant effort to dethrone perennial champions Cork. The Rebels were on the back foot for large parts of the contest, but eventually pulled through by a solitary point. Donegal may have lost the battle, but in our eyes the CCS girls are an inspiration to all young players, both boys and girls, in CCS. The commitment and dedication that the two girls put in all year helped them to get this far. They are a credit to the school. It was great for the local supporters who turned up in Dublin on Sunday to chat with the girls after the match. They were obviously very disappointed, but were also philosophical in defeat, demonstrating the true sporting attitude they possess. It's back to the study books for both girls now as they prepare for the Leaving Cert in a few weeks' time...
