The senior ladies kicked-off the season with a comprehensive 2-0 victory over Deele College on Wednesday, 5th October. A fantastic team-worked goal finished by Shania McGonigle, and an own-goal were enough to see the ladies through. The scoreline may have read 2-0, but as Mourinho himself said this week, "It could have been 3-0 or 4-0 at half-time, 6-0 at the end of the game, but the result was 2-0; that's football". It was a real team performance from start to finish. CCS stopped Deele crossing the halfway line in the first half, with only a couple of opposition raids in the second. The squad can be proud of their performance as they look forward to their final group match next week against Milford. With news filtering through that local rivals Moville have pulled out of the competition, the girls are more focused than ever, believing that this is their year. If they can replicate a performance like Wednesday's next time out, they'll find themselves in another Ulster Semi-final.
