In the last year, we have looked at teaching and learning in our school to find out what we are doing well. Having engaged an outside agent to survey all stakeholders on their views we developed a school plan with a three year cycle based on this.
Dear Parents / Guardians,
Please remind your child today and for the coming months to be EXTRA CAREFUL when getting on and off the buses in the mornings and evenings as the dark and wet weather increase the chances for accidents. Please advise your son / daughter not to cross the road when they get off the bus until the bus has driven away, and to check for traffic in both directions before crossing.
As Halloween approaches, pupils and parents / guardians are advised to familiarise themselves with the school's policy regarding Bangers, Fireworks etc. (see link below) – “that possession of, distribution of, use of or encouraging the use of Bangers / Fireworks will be regarded as endangering the safety and welfare of the entire school community." Sanctions up to and including expulsion will be considered.
It was a particularly happy and successful day in CCS on Wednesday, 14th September. Congratulations to all of our pupils who received their Junior Cert results. Pictured is a group of pupils who amassed fifty Higher Level A-grades between them (one of whom achieved a clean sweep of 11 A-grades). There's no mystery in the achievement. The recipe for success remains being at school every day, bringing commitment to studies, and maintaining an all-round balance between study and extra-curricular activities.
Judging by the exchanges between pupils and staff yesterday, it's obvious that pupils acknowledge the great efforts made by their teachers and parents, who always encourage pupils to do their best.
