Ciaran Porter (2A) was CCS's sole representative in the All-Ireland Schools' cross-country on Saturday 8th March in Galway. Having finished 8th in the Ulster Districts at the end of January and 13th in the Ulster finals on the 19th February, Ciaran showed great form in qualifying for the biggest event on the Irish Schools cross-country calendar. Despite having a slight chest infection, Ciaran raced to a very creditable 83rd out of 111 finishers in the under 15 boys 3,500m race held on the Ballybrit racecourse. Ciaran will have gained great experience from competing in this event, which will be invaluable when he races in the 1,500m in the forthcoming track season.
