On Wednesday, Karen and Shay Harkin, accompanied by Mairead and Ciaran Farren, presented a cheque for €7,000 to the CCS Áras in memory of Alana Harkin, one of the Áras stage's most memorable entertainers. This extraordinary amount was half of the total raised by the Harkin and Farren families in the lead-up to the Ballyliffin Coastal Challenge, which they took part in as a tribute to Alana. We don't really have the words to adequately recognise the generosity of the contribution, but we have plenty to say about the impact that Alana had on our school. She will forever be missed, but always be remembered...as a wee girl with a BIG personality! The donation will be used to upgrade Áras facilities so that our pupils can literally keep the show going. On behalf of Karen, Mairead, and the Harkin and Farren families, we'd like to thank all who contributed to their fundraising drive....Alana will forever be in our hearts.
