Irish Rugby International Erin McConalogue Visits CCS

Having barely finished classes for the year, Irish rugby international (and current pupil) Erin McConalogue called back into CCS with her debut Irish Cap and Jersey. Erin's progress in the sport has been increasingly eye-catching since she first began training with Ulster at the age of 14. She represented Ulster at U16 in the 15 and 7 a side games at interprovincial level before moving to the U18's squad. She captained the 15's team in Feb 2024 and also led out the 7's in May.

In May 2023, Erin was selected for the IRFU Women's National Training Squad (WNTS). Her level of training and commitment increased to get her ready for the next level. After four long weekend camps at the HPC, Dublin she was selected for the U18's squad that travelled to Wales in April for the Six Nations Festival. This was her first International Cap at U18 level and CCS are extremely proud of Erin's achievement and work ethic.

Erin's next venture is the Ireland 7's training camp at the end of June with high hopes of being selected for the squad and playing in France in July (in a 7's tournament, not the Olympics...yet!)

Keep an eye out for Erin over the summer, playing for her country and doing CCS and Inishowen proud!
